(1922-1969) Керуак, Джек
Писатель, поэт, ведущий новеллист "поколения битников" [Beat Generation]. В своих произведениях предсказал бунт поколения 60-х годов и возникновение контркультуры [counterculture]. Первый роман "Городок и город" ["The Town and the City"] (1950) положил начало автобиографической саге "Легенда о Дулуозах" ["The Duluoz Legend"]. Широкая известность пришла к писателю с публикацией романа "На дороге" ["On the Road"] (1957), повествующего о жизни битников [beatnik]. Этой же теме посвящены романы "Подземные люди" ["The Subterraneans"] (1958), "Бродяги в поисках дхармы" ["The Dharma Bums"] (1958), "Биг-Сур" ["Big Sur"] (1962) и др. В основе писательского стиля Керуака лежит т.н. поток сознания. Из поэтических работ наиболее известны "Блюзы Мехико" ["Mexico City Blues"] (1959)
